Hooper's Is Entering Its 28th Season!

It's been a fabulous adventure since we purchased the land in 1978, which then was a corn field. In 1981 we started building the Big Barn on the Bay. It took 6 months to build. The gala Grand Opening was in June of 1982 and some 1800 people enjoyed the festivities. Throughout the years we would travel and find awesome artifacts for our customers to enjoy each season.

In 1990 Sneaky Pete's became a reality. It was a long awaited dream and a Must Visit when in Ocean City. Sneaky Pete's is open daily for lunch and dinner. Leaky Pete's was launched in 1998 - it was a hard working crab boat and it now has a permanent docking spot and seats 14 for lunch, cocktails or dinner. It's perfect for small private parties, and children love being on Leaky's for lunch!

In 2000, after searching for years, we finally found the the perfect "WOODEN" caboose. It traveled the rail lines for Chesapeake & Ohio Rail Roads around 1920. We restored it and The Blue Crab Express is now our Carry Out!!!

On January 29th, 2002 tragedy happened - Hooper's burned to the ground - the mountain seemed impossible to climb, but with the love and support from family, friends, and loyal customers, we did. We brought back the heartbeat of Hooper's by keeping, as much as possible, the same design.

While we continue to search far and wide for new and exciting artifacts to delight our patrons, 2009 is EXTRA exciting! We are fortunate to have brought to Hooper's collection A Tribute to #3, Dale Earnhardt! Yes, Hooper's now features a Winston Cup certified 2001 Monte Carlo, complete with an eight-cylinder, 986-horse power engine made by Andy Petree Racing. Another notable addition for 2009 is a fantastic piece of original art - our Biker! This Biker was designed by Sarasota, Florida artist Jack Dowd. His work is known worldwide! What magnificent detail! Check him out! In 2008, we added our 1966 Original Good Humor Ice Cream Truck - it was a mission but we restored it and now so many are able to enjoy a delicious ice cream as they smile and remember hearing those bells ring when they were children! These one-of-a-kind artifacts will take up residence alongside some of our other notable items including the plane that hangs from the ceiling, the Blues Brothers that adorn our stage, the magnificent Panoramic Bay View, a huge game room for all to enjoy, and The Fourteen Foot Crab that marks the entrance to Sneaky Pete's. We're also blessed with a staff that gives 150% each and every year.

We are so blessed to be able to share Hooper's - the memories are endless and the stories are never ending. We are constantly searching and thinking of new, exciting and fabulous things to add to Hooper's and Sneaky's for our fantastic and loyal customers to enjoy.

Come Make Memories With Us!
